RE:       Weekly Update

Our first week in the new Administration Building has been fantastic!  The beauty and peacefulness is a perfect match for the rest of the campus.  Looking out the windows day by day, we were able to watch the courtyard become transformed.  From soil to brick to irrigation, to sod to trees and plants – what a beautiful sight!  Despite the heat and the pressure to reach completion, the landscapers worked consistently and with determination to do the best job possible.  It was obvious that they took their job quite seriously and had pride in their performance.  And the results are magnificent!

And so it is with us as we go about day by day living our lives with hope.  It is about us and our relationship with God and one another.  The “heat” of the day may cause setbacks, but God is always there with outstretched hand to nudge us in a different direction.  The pressure to stay focused on the task at hand as well as on living the Gospel may become overwhelming, but God’s presence is constant and sure.  That brief deep breath of breathing in God’s spirit is a powerful prayer for assistance.  It will not go unanswered.  It is the consistency in searching for God in our ordinary lives that is so important to our growth.

As we go about this next week, let’s all try to be mindful of the ordinariness of our lives and the boundless love of our God.  Let’s take some quick moments to recall how blest we are.  Let’s breathe in positive thoughts and let go of the ones which pull us down.  Let’s praise and thank God for all that we have been given.  Let’s join in a huge prayer of gratitude for our beautiful, contemplative surroundings in which God’s generosity is so manifested.
