RE:                  Weekly Update

Wow!  The first day is over, and the second is not far behind!  For weeks, we all – parents and faculty – have planned and prepared for the big opening day.  The uniforms were purchased, the supplies made ready, the textbooks were stamped, the procedures reviewed, and the day arrived.  As we planned, however, we never factored in a rainy arrival, a rainy dismissal and a rainy in-between.  Fun, fun, fun!!!

What a great reminder of the fact that God is the one in charge.  We plan, we decide and then God does what God knows best.  No doubt, our lives are certainly like this.  Most of us like orderly lives, with ideas about what the future might bring and how we can best prepare for it.  We like to think that all our dreams will come true.  And, sometimes, in our dreaming, we forget about the Maker of All, the God of Love.  Planning is good, and it is important – but always our hands need to reach out to our loving God.  Holding firm to God’s hands will always bring us success and peace and happiness.  Our lives may not look like the picture we paint in our own minds, but they will be lives worth living and sharing with others.

Thank you so much for your help these beginning days.  It is you who help our days at the Academy run smoothly and productively.  We praise and thank God for you!

SOCCER COACHES NEEDED FOR FALL SOCCER K-5TH GRADE

Thank  you to all those that have already volunteered to coach a soccer team in the fall. We are still looking for volunteers to coach the 4/5 grade teams.  Please email Sally Wasik, sjwasik@cox.net, if you are interested in coaching a soccer team in the fall.

Coaches set their own practice day and time. Practices will be held at QPA, but all games will be at the SW YMCA  location, except for the 2/3 grade games, they will be played at QPA. There will be a coaches meeting on August 14 at the SW YMCA at 6:00. All coaches need to attend this meeting and pick up their coaches folder.

The sports program has been a huge success, so let’s continue the success into the fall by signing up your child to play soccer now or volunteering to coach.  It really is a lot of fun!

God be with you!
