My name is Hortensia Lamadrid. I am your child's teacher assistant. I thought you might want to know a little about me, so here we go!

  I was born in Cuba, got married there in July 1961, and moved with my husband to Miami, Florida in May 1962. On May 1963, our son was born in Miami, Florida. When he was two months old we moved to Puerto Rico and lived there for 32 years. I was an elementary Catholic school teacher for twenty-six years in Puerto Rico. I spent most of the time teaching first grade. I taught all subjects including Spanish, religious education and prepared the students for First Communion.We moved to Florida in 1994, and to Gainesville in 1999.

I was the Spanish Teacher for the first three years when the school started in August 2000. I was also a Teacher Assistant.

I know that with God's blessings and your help we will make Queen of Peace Catholic Academy the best school in the area.
